Madonna has decided not to release her much hyped video for "American Life". Here's her official statement from Madonna.com: " I have decided not to release my new video. It was filmed before the war started and I do not believe it is appropriate to air it at this time. Due to the volatile state of the world and out of sensitivity and respect to the armed forces, who I support and pray for, I do not want to risk offending anyone who might misinterpret the meaning of this video."
Madonna is going to be recording a new album next year. Also her movie "Swept Away" is in theatres but it had a limited release. So check the listings, because not all theatres will be shwoing it. Although it was rumored or said to have been bad and got horrible reviews, I recommmend going to check it out becuase it really is amazing. The critics say all madonna moive's are bad. They said "Who's That Girl" was bad but it's my favourite moive and as you saw or know Evita won 3 golden globes so ha ha to all the stupid critics.
"Die Another Day" from the new James Bond film has been released on radio and the video has also been released. The basic concept of the video is good madonna fights bad madonna. Madonna tries her hand at karate in this video. I thought it was amazing so check it out. Also Madonna has a cameo in the new James Bond moive "Die Another Day" she plays a fencing instructor.
Keep the Madonna pride alive
Peace and Love
Madonna MADONNA'S DROWNED WORLD TOUR REVIEW~~~~~ Madonna's back! Pop star opens Drowned World tour in Philly - By JANE STEVENSON -- Toronto Sun MADONNA First Union Center, Philadelphia Saturday, July 21, 2001 PHILADELPHIA -- Pop chameleon Madonna flaunted her many musical colours last night as she opened her Drowned World tour -- her first trek in eight years -- in front of 16,000 fans at the First Union Center. After a European launch in Barcelona on June 9, the Michigan-born pop superstar -- who also rehearsed in town yesterday -- was no doubt slightly nervous about the homeland reception to her highly theatrical show, although there were little signs of insecurity on her part last night. "Are you having a good time?" she bellowed at one point. "So am I!" Joined by a six-piece band, longtime backup vocalists Donna De Lory and Niki Haris, and nine dancers distinctively groomed in Mohawks or completely bald, Madonna divided her 100-minute extravaganza last night into four parts -- Rock and Roll Punk Girl, Geisha Girl, Cyber Cowgirl and Spanish Girl/Ghetto Girl. The first section of the show saw the 42-year-old singer decked out in a black bondage pants, a red plaid kilt and a black mesh and torn shirt as she made her way through such set highlights as the opener Drowned World/Substitute For Love and Ray of Light. But it was the second section, inspired both by the film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and dancer Martha Graham, that was truly exhilarating -- and frankly -- made it hard for Madonna to top herself for the rest of the night. During her first costume change, practically naked male dancers in flesh-coloured thongs emerged hanging upside down in cocoons that eventually dropped away while a striking video of Madonna in the guise of a geisha and singing Paradise Not For Me played on several large video screens and dozens of TV sets mounted above the stage. ASTONISHING BLACK KIMONO When she finally emerged herself, to sing Frozen, it was in a black wig and an astonishing black kimono with 26-foot sleeves, designed by both Arianne Phillips and Jean Paul Gaultier. But the really exciting part came during Sky Fits Heaven when Madonna, decked out in a red jumpsuit with a black harness, literally flew across the stage, being chased by her dancers or fighting off samurai. Sadly for Canadian fans, she isn't coming north of the border on this trek, although The Movie Network will broadcast Madonna's Aug. 26 show from The Palace of Auburn Hills -- on the outskirts of her hometown of Detroit -- beginning at 9 p.m. A notable Canadian connection, however, came via Dean and Dan Caten for DSquared, twin designers from Vancouver who are now based out of Milan. They created her Cyber Cowgirl outfit of leather shirt and "mud jeans" with spangled chaps. When she got up to provocatively line dance with her similarly attired dancers among bales of hay during Don't Tell Me, or sat on top a mechanical bull at the end of Human Nature, it provided wonderful set pieces straight out of an off-kilter Oklahoma. The set list, meanwhile, was heavy on last year's Music and 1998's critically acclaimed Ray Of Light. In between were only a few mid-'90s tunes like Human Nature and Secret, from 1994's Bedtime Stories and You'll See, co-written by Canadian composer David Foster, from 1995's Something To Remember. Her earlier career was noticeably under-represented with only 1987's La Isla Bonita and 1983's Holiday trotted out much to the sold-out audience's delight. Given some material like Nobody's Perfect, the goofy new tune, The Funny Song, and You'll See slowed down the momentum of the show, it couldn't hurt if Madonna threw in some of her earlier, more energetic hits. Still, Madonna tried something she's never done before in a concert setting. PLAYED ELECTRIC GUITAR She played electric guitar during Candy Perfume Girl -- evoking Courtney Love -- and strapped on an acoustic one for I Deserve It, Secret and La Isla Bonita, after reportedly taking daily lessons for the past eight months from her Texas guitarist Monte Pittman. I also give her marks for learning to stand still and actually sing on such songs as Drowned World/Substitute For Love and delivering a believable Spanish version of What It Feels Like For A Girl. There is a second concert tonight in the City Of Brotherly Love and the 12-city, 29-date U.S. tour wraps up on Sept. 14 in Los Angeles -- which is expected to take in $50 million US.

Covering her creative output between 1991-2001, Warner Bros./Maverick's GHV2 encapsulates Madonna's most critically lauded period, featuring an all-hit retrospective of such smash hits as Erotica, Secret, Take A Bow, Frozen, Ray Of Light and Music. "If you listen to the record, you can really see my evolution as a singer, songwriter and more importantly - a human being," says Madonna. The set deftly illustrates the artist's continued influence on popular music and culture, offering songs from a career that has seen sales of over 150 million units worldwide. The record, which is due in stores worldwide on November 13th, will be accompanied by one of the most significant TV, advertising and promotional campaigns ever launched. There will also be special MTV and VH1 programming featuring Madonna that will coincide with the release of GHV2. The deluxe packaging for GHV2 features over 600 career retrospective photos of Madonna and was designed by Grammy award winning art director Kevin Reagan. The compilation will be complemented by the simultaneous release of a DVD/VHS recording of Madonna's widely acclaimed Drowned World Tour, which played to sold-out audiences throughout the world during the summer of 2001. The DVD/VHS offers footage of Madonna's performance at The Palace of Auburn Hills in her hometown of Detroit. The Drowned World Tour first aired on HBO in August to record-breaking ratings. "The tour was a celebration of everything I've done musically in the last l0 years. It seemed appropriate to punctuate that with a DVD and record that contained the singles from the same time period. I loved being able to perform these songs from my last three records," added Madonna. The over photographs on the DVD/VHS package were taken by long time Madonna friend, Rosie O'Donnell. The RIAA's Diamond Award for The Immaculate Collection covers the first phase of the diva's career spanning from 1982's Holiday to 1990's Justify My Love and includes the timeless classics Like A Virgin, Vogue and Like A Prayer. To date, the compilation has sold more than 22 million copies worldwide.
